A Newborn's Conversation with God
A baby asked God, 'They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but
how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?' God said, 'Your
angel will be waiting for you and will take care of you.'
The child further inquired, 'But tell me, here in heaven I don't have to do
anything but sing and smile to be happy.' God said, 'Your angel will sing
for you and will also smile for you. And you will feel your angel's love and
be very happy.' Again the child asked, 'And how am I going to be able to
understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language?' God said,
'Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear,
and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak.'
'And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?' God said, 'Your
angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray.'
'Who will protect me?' God said, 'Your angel will defend you even if it
means risking its life.' 'But I will always be sad because I will not see you
anymore.' God said, 'Your angel will always talk to you about Me and will teach
you the way to come back to Me, even though I will always be next to you.'
At that moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from Earth could
be heard and the child hurriedly asked, 'God, if I am to leave now, please
tell me my angel's name.'
God said, 'You will simply call her, 'Mom.'
Today was the funeral for my co-worker who passed away very unexpectedly last week.
There was a vocalist who sang two of my favorite songs. Wind beneath my Wings and Amazing Grace.
It was a beautiful service and standing room only. People were bursting at the seems in the small family ran mortuary. The flowers were fresh smelling and cascaded from tall easels to small pedestals.
The graveside service consisted of one solitary white dove flying off into the distance and then a group of three white doves following shortly after to represent him and then his wife and two children.
Is it possible that my Neice and nephews are old enough for PrOm?!? Crap, I feel old....but not as old as my Brother and Sister, you guys are seriously old to have children going to prom. (It's fantastic to be the little sister, love you guys)
So two weeks ago my Nephew, Taylor and his buddy got dressed up in the "Zoot suites" and headed to prom. This kid has the best personality, you seriously have to know him to understand how he could pull such a thing off.
Apparently his date had a good personality to go along with this. She looked beautiful.
My oldest Nephew, Michael, decided to ditch Prom this year, but somehow my Sister managed to get a photo of the two boys together. Aren't they a handsome pair?
Then this past weekend my Neice, Vanessa also went to prom. Her Nana made cookies in honor of the big event.
I did her hair. I think she liked it? It was suppose to look like a photo she saw of Taylor Swift.
Her and her boyfriend looked so cute together in their hot pink formal wear.
Maddy was loving this whole "Prom" thing, she absorbed the idea and got a fancy new dress, Aunt Roxanne did her hair and makeup and she painted her toes hot pink in honor of Nessa.
Aside from getting all dolled up, she also enjoyed the punch and yummy cookies from Nana Linda.
Went to a party at Michelle's house with Roxanne and bought way to much. Ate some yummy shrimp, avacado, mango salad....YUM...
I was dubbed the hair stylest for the day and did Vanessa's hair for prom. She found a photo of Taylor Swift in Peope Magazine and I attempted to copy it. She looked beautiful!
Got a phone call from a friends Mom who suggested she fly to Casa De Williams for her birthday in 3 weeks. I may need to start a count down!
Ryan and I went to dinner and a bar with a new group of friends. It was great conversation and much needed adult night out! Eric and Roxanne were able to joing us in between shuffling kids to and from prom.
This morning we slept in and then made a big breakfest. Afterwords, Kenna and I went to the grocery store and Ryan cleaned up. I planted some new flowers in the front yard. Ryan finished his term paper and his speech.
Tonight we're gonna hang out do Chili with Brayton and Gillian here at the house.
I've been struggling with work lately. The mortgage industry just isn't fun like it use to be. This week was particularly stressful, so when my Mom called me and suggested a ditch day, of course I was game!
We went to the Gardens and SHOPPED, SHOPPED, SHOPPED! While on our little shopping spree we giggled and talked and had some Mother-Daughter time.
Ryan was thrilled that I was taking a day with my Mom, he gave a cash budget and a condition. He wanted me to buy a new bathing suit. So, I took the money and agreed! Here is my purchase at Macy's, isn't it CUTE!
After the 2.5 hour venture in Macy's, we went to New York & Co., Talbots, and my personal favorite Ann Taylor!
So all in all we had a productive day purchasing dresses, shorts, tanktops bathing suits and of course....
Thanks for the time away MOM and Ryan.
P.S. Michelle I miss our shopping ventures too! I think you should visit soon!
So rather them commenting any further on my week thus far, I will share a Ethan bug moment.
He's such a little cutie! We were at our friends house the other night and the older kids were playing in one of their bedrooms and shut the door on poor little Ethan. Not knowing any of this, this is the scene....
Ethan moops out into Holly's living room, crosses his arms and lays his head on the couch saying one looong run on sentence that sounded something like, "I bigger, their mean, I bigger, door shut, mean, I bigger". So, I ask, "Ethan what's wrong did the kids shut the door on you?" "Yeah, I bigger, door shut, I bigger, meaaaaan, I bigger". Laughing I say, "Well go knock on the door and tell them you grew". He turned around and walked slowly down the hall with his head down saying, "I bigger, their mean, I bigger, door shut, I bigger".
Even with a cute as that was, do you think the 5 older kids let him in? Nope.
UGH! I quit!?@!!
After reading Tamzen's blog, I decided to do my own virtual tour of our home in surburbia.
It's comfortable and extremely kid friendly. My decorating taste is summed up in one word...
COLOR
So let the tour begin.
A weeks worth of cleaning out rooms and prepping for a yard sale.
Get up and sit in the driveway at 6:00a.m. until 1:00p.m.
Pack up the remaining items and drive them to the local Thrift store.
Make $191.00 dollars.
Walk 4 houses down and spend $200.00 at their yard sale.
Our find?
Yep a Thomas the Train table with tons of tracks and somewhere on the upside of 30 plus trains. This will be what I like to call "free babysitting" of two little people for many hours.....
Um, where's the pictures of Vanessa?? read more
