Makenna and Ethan have been in swim lessons for the last month. For the first few weeks Kenna (in typical Kenna fashion totally monopolized the instructors time) and then for the last few weeks, Ethan has kept them on their toes with his mischievous ways.
I'm pretty confident that some of Makenna has rubbed off onto my once sweet and Innocent Ethan.
While walking outside, I stopped to admire my perfectly purple polished toenails and how cute they make my black Steve Madden peek toe heels look. Then straighten back up, all the while feeling slightly confused.
I proceed into Chilli's restaurant to meet Roxanne, apparently looking as confused as I felt. She laughed and asked what my puzzled face was all about?
"Well, I painted my nails pink, but I just noticed they were purple."
Duh.....I forgot I had used the Del Sol color changing polish. Normally pink, but in the sun purple. Yep, that was a blond moment for sure!
I just don't have anything profound or enlightening or even interesting to say today. I think I'm kinda blah. The heat is annoying, my desk is annoying and Ryans back in school at night, which is...annoying.
So I'll try again tomorrow.
The kids and I surprised Ryan with a Fathers Day gift that I'm sure he'll cherish for many years to come. I can't resist sharing so heres a little sneak peak of our photo session with Michelle.
I sneaked Ryan's truck out and took it on a back road in town.
More to follow. I think she said she got 55 shots. All I know is I went through a disk with her and absolutely LOVED every shot!!!
Summer is here and we are in full swing summer mode! Schools out, swimming lessons have begun and vacations are planned....
Our schedules and always packed and there's never a dull moment with four children. Our weekends consist of bbqs, friends, family, celebrations and very rarely is there time to stop and breathe. But, you know what? I love it! I love constantly being surrounded with things to do, people to meet and fun to be had!
So, this week and weekend are no different. Ryan had four nights of summer school, Maddy went to two sleep overs, the babies had swim lessons twice, the kids and I worked on a "secret project" with a good friend, I walked two nights with Michelle and now onto the weekend. Tonight Holly, Charlie and their girls are coming over to hang out and have dinner. Tomorrow my mother-n-law is taking the two little ones to a craft thing, while we take the two older kids bed shopping for Christian. Sunday my husbands family is coming over to celebrate a belated fathers day and Maddy birthday combo and then Monday night we're going to my brothers to celebrate our cousins two June bithdays with a bbq and swimming.
See what I mean. The calander is always full. We are so blessed with a houseful of children, good friends close by and tons of family!
Last Friday night, Maddy wanted to go to dinner and then cosmic bowling for her 8th birthday. Since her big brother, Christian, and cousin Grant are out of town, she decided she wanted to ask Uncle Eric, Aunt Roxanne and Nessa to go and bowl the three of them verses the three of us.
So Aunt Roxanne, said "we would party like 1999", which Maddy thought was funny. So we started our adventure at Bj's restaurant where we were up to our eyeballs in food followed by the worlds largest cookie topped with 6 scoops of vanilla ice cream!
Maddy's eyes about popped out of her head at the sight of her jumbo birthday dessert! Then she opened her gifts.
Then we were off to find, and when I say find, I mean LITERALLY find the bowling ally. You would think this would be an easy task, but it wasn't. The first one we went to was totally full and had an hour wait, so we piled back in the suburban in search of another one. We arrived at one a few miles away and Maddy was throughly pleased that they would be starting their CoSmIc bOwLiNg in an hour.
After we all had on our snazzy bowling shoes we listed our names in the computer and "Butthead" (Eric) was up first.
After 3 frames of totally sucking, we decided to ask for the little bumper rails (which we said we needed for Madyson) and that really improved our game. We all managed to shoot in the hundreds....
Once the lights were out and the fog was thick, Maddy and Nessa proceeded to dance on the lanes!
and Eric showed off his professional bowling stand.....Dad you would be SO proud.
We spent all weekend moving. No not houses, but rooms. Little miss Makenna moved out of the nursery which she shared with Ethan and into the big girl room with Maddy. We took the bunk-beds from Christians room and put it into the girls room. We removed the 2nd toddler bed from Ethans room which made his room seem so spacious.
It took 16 hours to make the move, but I think we have 2 happy girls. Although on the flip side of that happiness, we have one sad and lonely baby boy. Ethan does not like his "Nenna" being in another room. Saturday night when I layed him down he started crying and managed to sob out that "you have daddy and sissy has Nenna and I don't have nobody".
So his big sister was to the rescue and gave him one of her "magic babies" to watch over him in his sleep. A few hours after he feel asleep I glanced in on him and he had a death grip on the baby, holding onto it for dear life!
Last night while driving home from dinner with Eric and Roxanne, Ethan announced that "Daddy is a bad boy".
Then he proceeded to tell Ryan "don't be gumpy daddy." We laughed and asked him to repeat himself, so he in a much louder voice said, "Daddy, do be GUMPY!"
Awe, how could someone be grumpy gumpy with a cute little guy like that around?
I love these! She did an awesome job and I wish I lived closer to have ours done. read more
