Thankyou Mr. Postman
Normally I never venture across the street to the mailbox, but, during the month of December it's the first thing I do when I get home. I love unlocking the little box and finding Christmas cards, pictures and letters!
Tonight we received 6, but I found 2 in particular to be very interesting. They both warmed my heart!
The first one was from my best friend for the past 28 years, Stacey, her Dad. It was addressed to the "clan" which I found so appropriate and loving! Ryan and I both laughed.
The second was from an old co-worker of mine. He retired this year at the age of, I believe, 78. He was once of the most sincere, most interesting people I think I'll ever meet. His stories we're fascinating and he just over flowed with a vast amount of knowledge. Anyways for the 11 years that I worked with him, his wife would always send in shirt boxes filled to the brim with homemade fudge and rum balls for me to bring home to Ryan and the kids. Well since he retired and I won't get to see him this holiday season, he and his wife typed us up the sweetest card and enclosed the recipes. How thoughtful and what a wonderful surprise! I know these are recipes that I will past to my girls and to many generations to come!
