This week seems like the perfect week to stop and remember what I am thankful for.
God, for everything he has blessed me with
Faith, because without it I wouldn't understand the path I am on
Ryan, without him I wouldn't be complete
My children, they bring me back to reality
My parents, because I couldn't have asked for better role models
My siblings, there both so opposite yet both so loving and generous
Friends, because I need their laughter and encouragement
Family, because they love us and our children wholeheartedly

Wow it's been 5 days since my last post!!! I've never gone that long!
I've been crazy busy... Lets see where to start?
Ryan was in Texas watching a NASCAR race for the weekend with his Dad. Meanwhile I was at home with the little chicklings. There was ZERO down time. Our weekend consisted of Drunko Bunco, Nutcracker rehearsal, a friends 30th Birthday out of the area, a Tea at my house for 12 ladies, Church, My sister flying into town, dinner at my house for 17 family members.
Breathe.
Today I'm off work to pack and hang out with my Sister and Mom, before we leave tomorrow to MALL OF AMERICA! Yep thats right a girls trip, no husband and no children, just 16 girlfriends...... YAHOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So what have I packed so far? Um, lets see a pair of jeans a few pairs of jammies and a scarf. Yep I apparently still have alot of work to do.
Saying Maddy is my "mini me" is such a understatement.
Last night I was reminded just how much of a "mini me" she really is.
She wanted to get in on the betting action from a few weeks ago so during dinner she bet her father to see who could guess how many pairs of shoes she has.
They teased back and fourth and finally he decided to guess 15 pairs. Maddy (who had not counted them) guess 21 pairs.
After dinner she and I ran upstairs and I watched while she counted and counted and counted, emptying two overflowing drawers of shoes onto the floor.
The final verdict was 22. The child has 22 pairs of shoes. At that moment I realized not only to we look alike and have the same personality but we have the same LOVE of shoes!! CUTE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last night Ryan and I went to PF Changes for a delicious dinner for 2. I love dinner for 2 because the conversation doesn't need to be censored. Theres no need to talk in code or spell anything, just talk.
We ordered a ton of food followed by two little "shots" of dessert in shot glasses. After dinner we wondered around the outdoor shopping area, up and down the brick lined streets hand-in-hand.
Then we came home, put the Movie FIREPROOF in the dvd player and snuggled down on the couch.
Over the weekend Ryan and I sat down and went through several boxes of photos in search of pictures for a impending slide-show.
So as we were reminiscing I noticed that so many pictures are taken with the same people over and over again. The people whom we spend alot of time with. The people we are close to and enjoy being around. Certain family members and certain friends who we have created so many memories with. People we have started traditions with. People we are comfortable with.
Then I thought about the friends who we don't see anymore and the family members whom we just don't have a relationship with and the lack of pictures with them due to that lack of relationship. The older the kids get they too will pick up on the lack of pictures, of memories, with some people and it will hurt.
It's a unsolvable situation. I know some friends are just that. Friends their meant to pass in and out of your life because when you have things in common you have more to talk about, you have reasons to hang out, but family is different, the relationship should be consistant. There shouldn't be photos of birthdays and special occasions that don't consist of family.
I am thankful for the special relationships we have. I am thankful for all of the friends who feel like family. I am thankful for the family that feels like family. I am thankful for the relationships that are growing and I regret the relationships that are dwindling away.
But such is life I guess.
Ryan and I are not that faithful in going to church, which I do feel convictions about. However I don't necessarly believe that you have to go to church to be a faithful follower of Christ. I believe you should love God and live your life accordingly following the path God has chosen for you.
I have kept a Bible verse tucked in my wallet for several years:
"Apply Gods word and walk by the spirit" Galatians 5:16-26
Some of my other favorites are:
"Wives submit to your husbands as the the Lord, for the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body of which he is the Savior" Ephesians 22 and 23
"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud" 1 Corinthians 13:4
"Your hands shaped me and made me" Job 10:8

'Remember yesterday, dream about tomorrow, but live today'..
Our dishwasher is broke and when I say broke I mean BROKE! As in the handle came off in my hand.
We bought it almost 4 years ago from Sears, so I called them and they are sending a Sears repairman at $129.00 an hour. YIKES! So if he's there for 2 or more hours it would be the same cost as purchasing a NEW dishwasher!
So in the mean time I will be rolling old school, washing by hand....and for 6 people the job doesn't sound that enticing!
