My babies are so sweet. Ethan loves his "Nenna" and Makenna loves her "Bug Bug".
Last night Makenna announced that "Daddy is not her friend, nope, he's not." I asked who she liked and she said, "Mommy, Bug Bug, Bubba and Sissy only". So what brought on this conversation? Her Daddy told her the N.O. word and it just plain pissed her off.
Tonight as I walked through the door I saw Maddy, Kenna and Ethan playing in the backyard in their bathing suits. It was so sweet. They had taken the hose and filled the little sinks in the two playhouses and we're playing "house".
I commented to Makenna how cute she looked since she's wearing one of Maddy' old swimsuits, she smiled from ear to ear and told me it was because she was "all growed up". Then Maddy said, "Yeah! Makenna is getting so big, lets have another baby girl Mommy!?!"
Um, not.
Who: my 8 year old Nephew Grant
What: 2 emergency rooms in one night
Where: a local park
When: last night
Why: While putting golf balls Christian's ball hit Grant full force in the forehead
The result? A HUMONGOUS welt about 2 inches wide and two inches sticking out, about the same size as a golf ball sticking off the poor child's forehead...
The first ER sent us to the children's hospital for "possible head trauma" and a "CT Scan".
The second ER asked if Christian hit him with the club or the ball? They poked and prodded, made him eat, observed him and then sent us home several hours...
Today the swelling is down and rather then looking like a deformed alien, he looks like a little boy with a bruised forehead and black eyes.
Conclusion: The boys learned a lesson in listening. Had they of listened to me they wouldn't have been putting the ball to each other. Apparently parents really do have reasons behind rules.
On a side note: I felt horribly responsable and will probably let Grant get away with murder for many years to come.
Bottom of the 12th inning (yes, 12 that is not a typo) and Detroit walked us all the way to winning the game.
The game was O.K., although not much action, the real action came afterwords in the form of fireworks in Honor of Memorial Day.
We went to the game with some family and friends. Brayton and Gill were there and Holly and Charlie sat with us.
The kiddos stalked up on soda, cotton candy and red vines. There was some "action" with Christian and his "girlfriend" Kayle, more on that later.
This was a good ending to our romantic get away weekend together. Whats better then being with the person you love as well as family and friends?
A weeks worth of cleaning out rooms and prepping for a yard sale.
Get up and sit in the driveway at 6:00a.m. until 1:00p.m.
Pack up the remaining items and drive them to the local Thrift store.
Make $191.00 dollars.
Walk 4 houses down and spend $200.00 at their yard sale.
Our find?
Yep a Thomas the Train table with tons of tracks and somewhere on the upside of 30 plus trains. This will be what I like to call "free babysitting" of two little people for many hours.....
The kids and their Grandma Judy have had new pets. They've been taking care of caterpillars that eventually made cocoons and then became butterflies all in shoe boxes. Yesterday was THE DAY according to their little birth paperwork to release them into the wild.
Christian's flew up and over the house the minute he opened his box, but Maddy's was alittle timid and wasn't so sure about leaving. Which was good because it gave the 7 of us plenty of time to watch it and take pictures. After a few minutes if finally spread it's big orange and black wings and flew away. What a great project and a good learning lesson for the kids. Next will be tadpoles I think.Camping.

This two oldest chicklings had two jam-packed weeks off school for spring break. Everyday brought them something new to do. Prior to spring break we sat at the kitchen table and made a "wish list" of things to do while off from school. The list had 16 ideas on it and they managed to do 15 of them. Heres a little run down of their break...

Never a dull quiet car ride in our family. This morning we went to pick up the trailer to get it ready for next weekends camping trip. While in route the chicklings were all telling jokes. Yep no radio necessary with our clan.
Ethan kept saying, "Mommy, Knock Knock?" and when I would reply, "Who's there?" He would giggle and say, "Mommy, Knock Knock?", over and over again. While this continuous Knock Knock job outplayed with no ending, Makenna says, "I got a funny one". "Your mama's so ugly she made the onions cry".
We all laughed, especially Ryan. I can't seem to warm up to "your mama" jokes. Questions is...if she's this sassy at 3, what will 13 and every dreaded age there after be like?
