Every night I make the rounds to pray with each child before bed. The girls are always short and easy. We give each other loves and then we pray for each member of our family to have a good nights rest and for a good day the next day. Sometimes one of them will ask a question which leads to another question or comment but for the most part it's pretty routine.
Ethan on the other hand.....not so much....When I arrive in Ethan's room we always have to carefully arrange his bed with all of his bedtime friends, then he lays down and chooses which of his blankies he wants to cover up with. Then I give him a hug and a kiss and then he has to give me a hug and a kiss. Next we pray. His prayer goes something like this: "Dear Heavenly Father thank you for Daddy, Mommy, Bubba, Sissy, Kenna, Ms. Serena, Tiffany, the new baby, Jelly Cat, Baxter, Woody, Buzzlighter and Uncle Shane and Please God help us have a good nights sleep and a good day tomorrow."
Whew.....yep it's long and if someones forgotten we have to start back at the beginning. Such a sweet boy.
(Oh and to explain Baxter is his puppy and Jelly Cat is the elephant that watches him in the dark and keeps the monsters away.)
I know the correct term is "Musical chairs", but in our house it's "Musical beds"....
Ethan has a hard time staying in his own bed at night, but he knows he shouldn't bother any of his siblings so he very quietly wraps himself up in his blankie, lays down in the doorway of Christian or Madyson's room and falls back asleep until someone wakes up and discovers him.
This morning he was laying in Christians doorway so peacefully...
Last night while driving home from dinner with Eric and Roxanne, Ethan announced that "Daddy is a bad boy".
Then he proceeded to tell Ryan "don't be gumpy daddy." We laughed and asked him to repeat himself, so he in a much louder voice said, "Daddy, do be GUMPY!"
Awe, how could someone be grumpy gumpy with a cute little guy like that around?
Ethan has a new word. Its a big one for a 2 year old so it's more than adorable when he says it....
Sunday morning while eating pancakes he said, "MMMMMMM, these pancakes are "Duh wish ious"....(Delicious)
We all laughed and told him how cute he is, so now anytime he eats anything he has to announce very loudly how
"Duh wich ious" it is!
Ethan has been hanging around his older brother alittle to much. Why, you ask? Because he's two and his new FAVORITE thing to say is....
"What Up Hommie Dawg".
Last night Ethan was so excited for me to see the Letter E that he made.
He patted his leg and said "C'mon Mommy, C'mon. C'mon Mommy, C'mon".
What?
I asked him, "What am I your puppy?"
With a huge grin he replied "Y E A H" and went running towards the refrigerator.
This weekend was a unusual weekend, because Ryan had the chicklings while I went out twice!
Friday night was girls bunco night! This months was at Roxanne's house and Gillian got to come as a sub. Weird how my whole life I only had one sister and now I have one sister and three sister in laws! But a sister is a sister and I love them all!
Saturday Rc and I went scrap-booking at Christine's house for the day. It was so nice and I was able to get alot done! Whoo Hoo.
BUT.
This is the phone call I received while I was there:
"Hi, um, how do you get nail polish to come off something?"
"You use nail polish remover, why?"
"Well while Kenna and I were playing, Ethan apparently decided to paint his toenails and the bathroom floor and his knees and your bathroom mat and it's really bad!"
NICE.
So this is the little boy I came home too. Ain't he pretty?
He used 4 colors total and was very proud of himself.
