Yesterday we surprised the chicklings by taking them to Knotts. No, wait, let me revise that....We surprised our 4 chicklings, as well as our best friends 2 chicklings and took them all, yes 6 kids total, to Knotts Berry Farm. We were way out numbered, but thats our life, the little people always out number the adults!
The kids had a fantastic day and Ryan and I were exhausted when we finally got home last night. Some cute things from the day were....
After exiting the train ride, Ethan bug said, "I scared, scared".
Madyson was the brave 6 year old and went on what seemed like everything! Not a scaredy cat bone in her little body! Her favorite thing was the giant swings...Kassidy was too short to go on this, so her and I played a carnival game while we waited for Christian, Madyson and Kayle.
Makenna saw Snoopy and his friends and thought she had died and gone to heaven. She marched right over and pet his leg while asking him some random question...
While walking between rides a lady came up to us (probably feeling bad that the 2 of us had 6 kids) and gave Ethan bug the Elmo doll she had won at a game... He grabbed it and hugged it saying, "M-E-L-M-O!!"
While in Camp Snoppy christian took Kenna on the Ferris Wheel. All the kids and I went on these irritaing little trucks. The trucks weren't exactly irriting, it was the horns attched to the trucks that were so irritating!
Then we all went on the Carrousel. Ethan made the funniest facial expressions! He kept smiling and pointing at all the random animals, even saw roosters on it?
The four older kids went on the bumper cars. The girls were vengful. Poor Christian, the lone boy out there!
Christian and Kayle went on the spinning ride that was cool only because Maddy and Kassidy weren't tall enough to ride it...
The best part of the whole day, other then seeing all their faces when we got there, or the feel of my pillow under my head after a day at a theme park with 6 kids verses 2 adults, was when the kids went on The Plunge...Pictures tell it best!
They got drenched! From the ground watching, I had a pit in my stomach thinking that my kids were about to drop off that, then Makenna stood up from her stroller and yelled, "Be careful Sissy!"
Lets start with photos of Friday nights Christmas dinner and gifts...with Ryan's dad, Enoch, Debra and sister, Amanda...Can't remember if I mentioned last last how Ethan Bug tried to sit in a box, but the box was too little, so he squeezed himself in it!
Next is the pictures from the cookie exchange on Sunday, as mentioned in earlier posts...
Next came Christmas Eve. We lounged around the house until 4 and then we got dressed up and went to Christmas Eve Service at Church for 30 minutes of Christmas carols and a quick message from the pastor.
It was my favorite one, the meaning of the candy cane. Then onto my parents house for dinner, music and gifts. My family is pretty obnoxious when it comes to jokes and opening the gifts, so it's always an amusing and interesting night.... The high light for me was my much desired Margarita machine!
The kids were so cute opening there goodies. We had alot of fun and I enjoyed having both of my siblings there!
Santa came bright and early to suburbia....bringing exactly what each kid asked for. The babies chased each other around the house on their atc's, while Maddy played restaurant and Christian played his new Wii games. My sister, mom and I made a huge southern breakfast and we ate and ate and ate... (anything to spoil Denice's diet!)
Then Christmas night, back over to Mom and Dads for round too.....The classic parts of the evening involved Dad....Number one being mom's new leash for Dad....photos tell best...
Second being when Dad opened the Espresso cups he apparently asked for. All of us kids were stunned...espresso cups? Dads hands are huge and expresso cups are so small, so needless to say we got great enjoyment out of teasing him for the remaining of the night about his masculinity...
Last, here's some of my favorites from the rest of Christmas night...like when Makenna opened a new outfit and decided she needed to strip down and change into it at that exact moment in time!
Just got a email from Charlie (which always makes me laugh or smile) and I must say that I'm so happy their moving back. I miss them and am counting down the days...after 17 years of friendship, it never gets old being with them. Some highlights to look forward too:
* Game nights, 10,000 anyone? Or like the "old days" monopoly
* Ice skating (Ryan being on his butt)
* Pumpkin carving
* Hanging out talking and giggling
* Shopping
* Lunch dates
* Venting, without having to call long distance
* More New Years Eve memories to make
* Camping
* Hol's famous breakfast!
* Rosa Maria nights
* Dinner and movie double dates
* Birthdays
* Sleep overs, when it's illegal to drive after a night of Hol serving drinks
* Ryanism's, because Charlie and Holly bring out the best in him
* Holly snorting when she laughs
* Charlie, its a hairy sitituation (love you)
****** Ok, I could go on and on. These are a few of the things that I've missed over the last year when they've been in Vegas
18 Days to go!!
I spent the last 4 days with my girlfriends in Washington! It was relaxing and I had a really good time. It's so beautiful in Washington. I lucked out and it was good weather. We laughed, shopped, ate, watched movies, talked and cried. It was perfect. I love both these girls and miss them already! Here are some random pictures of my trip.
Michelle, Stacey and I at the Nordstrom's sale. My mission was to buy jeans and I actually had great success. Maybe not the size I would have liked, but, it's satisfaction to purchase a pair.
I took this picture of the Space Needle downtown out of the sunroof of a car. I love the city when its all lit up!
Stacey lives on a island that is breathtaking! Everything is covered in bright green moss and all the trees are different shades of amber, orange and yellow. The streets are sprinkled with leaves. The picture below is in her backyard. Its so relaxing and I even saw deer everyday eating apples
Stacey's other half is also named Ryan, ever since we were little girls we always had the same things so its not suprising that we would both end up with a Ryan!! The dog in the above photo is her "daughter". She is the spoiled one on the house.
