I love, love love December......There's the tree, the house trimmed in white lights, a roaring fire every-night, cuddling on the couch watching Christmas movies, baking, eating yummy Christmas treats, lots of family time and my absolute favorite all the Christmas parties and festivities to go to!
We started our "filled" December weekends last night with Ryan's work party at the Hilton Hotel, tonight will be onto the theater to watch Madyson perform in the Nutcracker and tomorrow night another Christmas party.
Next weekend is ugly Christmas sweater bunco at my house, then watching Nessa in her Christmas show and the mission in lights with Clint and Christina.
The weekend after that Christmas with Charlie and Holly, a Christmas party at Stacey and Brian's house and Kandace's birthday.
Then it's the week of Christmas! Bring it on I am soooooo ready!
Into Christmas at our casa. The tree is up and decorated from top to bottom. The stockings are hung on the garland trimmed fireplace. 25 days of the advant calander are full for the little ones.
Now onto wrapping gifts for our enormous famliy.
THIS ShOULD BE INTERESTING!
Tonight will be the beginning of the baking marathon in preperation for tomorrow. I'm going to my cousins to start cooking for our very first Thanksgiving meal. Somehow both of us have escaped 30 years of not making the dreaded turkey. We both seem to have the same saga of convincing our moms to do it for us. So needless to say this should be very interesting. Either we'll survive and place a beautifully delicious bird on the table or we'll slaughter it so bad that we'll be serving just side dishes as our meal.
Stay tuned!
Halloween is one of my favorite times of the year. It's a holiday where people get to show their creativity and where children are everywhere!
My little ones LOVE how we transform the house with spooky things.
Halloween morning Maddy had Nutcracker rehearsal but afterwards we carved pumpkins.
This year Christian decided rather then Trick-or-treathing he wanted to have his own booth at the Church's Harvest Carnival. My Dad always has one, so rather then signing up for 1 he got 2. Christian designed his game and found his bible verse.
The other chicklings did however dress up. Maddy and Kenna selected designs from a friend of mine who made the most fantastic tutu costumes.
Ethan wanted to be Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. He's been flying around the house for weeks in it!
So after we got dressed up and did hair and makeup we headed to the Church's Harvest to play games. Afterwards we trick-or-treated in our neighborhood ending up at Craig and Laurie's for a fire, tortilla soup and margaritas.
As usual with 4 kids getting candy we have a ridiculous amount of candy at home. Slowly Ryan and I will both take some to work so the kids won't notice and the dentist will thank us.
Tons of pictures will come once the candy wears off.
Maddy went to a Halloween party for her friend Brock last weekend. She's dressing up like a playfully adorable witch.
A friend made the costume look how cute it is!
Wow, look at those baby blues! (also, see the lime green spider hanging in the back of the picture? Ethan made it out of a egg carton and pipe cleaners!)
I thank GOD to have the freedom to raise my children in such a wonderful country. We should recognize our independence more than one day a year.
We spent the day relaxing and then headed over to our friends Josh and Aurora for some yummy food, margaritas and fireworks.
My favorite part of the day was watching Ethans reaction whenever one of the kids popped a party popper.
It's only April and tonight the white bearded fat man in the red suit was mentioned by the 4 year old in the house.
Seriously?
