It's so hard being the youngest of four siblings.
Ethan is normally one of two things, either super quiet observing things or super loud being the center of attention.
His moods depend of three things. Christian, Madyson and Makenna.
Ethan is usually Makenna's shadow, so I should have questioned WHY Madyson had him in her room "playing" for over an hour.
Why? Hum, well apparently he is the perfect life size human doll.
Is it possible that my Neice and nephews are old enough for PrOm?!? Crap, I feel old....but not as old as my Brother and Sister, you guys are seriously old to have children going to prom. (It's fantastic to be the little sister, love you guys)
So two weeks ago my Nephew, Taylor and his buddy got dressed up in the "Zoot suites" and headed to prom. This kid has the best personality, you seriously have to know him to understand how he could pull such a thing off.
Apparently his date had a good personality to go along with this. She looked beautiful.
My oldest Nephew, Michael, decided to ditch Prom this year, but somehow my Sister managed to get a photo of the two boys together. Aren't they a handsome pair?
Then this past weekend my Neice, Vanessa also went to prom. Her Nana made cookies in honor of the big event.
I did her hair. I think she liked it? It was suppose to look like a photo she saw of Taylor Swift.
Her and her boyfriend looked so cute together in their hot pink formal wear.
Maddy was loving this whole "Prom" thing, she absorbed the idea and got a fancy new dress, Aunt Roxanne did her hair and makeup and she painted her toes hot pink in honor of Nessa.
Aside from getting all dolled up, she also enjoyed the punch and yummy cookies from Nana Linda.
The kids and their Grandma Judy have had new pets. They've been taking care of caterpillars that eventually made cocoons and then became butterflies all in shoe boxes. Yesterday was THE DAY according to their little birth paperwork to release them into the wild.
Christian's flew up and over the house the minute he opened his box, but Maddy's was alittle timid and wasn't so sure about leaving. Which was good because it gave the 7 of us plenty of time to watch it and take pictures. After a few minutes if finally spread it's big orange and black wings and flew away. What a great project and a good learning lesson for the kids. Next will be tadpoles I think.Roxanne and Vanessa picked up Little Miss Madyson and I bright and early this morning for a day of.....
SHOPPING!
The four of us made a day of it. An eight hour trip to the Jessica McClintock store and then onto the Mall. We got lost in Macy's for a few hours and then walked the interior of the mall, shopping at Forever 21, Pacsun, Anchor Blue, Claries and Icing. We were on a mission for a PrOm DrEsS for Vanessa. She must have tried on 80 or so dresses today and we finally narrowed it down to two different ones.
So what does a girl do wth a delima like this? Buy both of course!!
She purchased a hot pink one and a royal blue one. Stunning, absolutely stunning. The kid has amazing skin tone and long dancer legs, so everything looked stunning on her.
Mission complete, so next we moved onto general dress shopping for Madyson. She picked out 20 or so dresses and the four of us hit the dressing rooms. She twirled and swayed and giggled alot while trying each one on. She finally decided on a hot pink, red and light pink polk-a-dot dress that is very swishy.

Yesterday was a "girls" day. Maddy, Kenna Jean, my mom and I went to Hollywood to see Disney's Enchanted at the El Capitan Theater. The girls got dressed up in their matching Enchanted shirts, compliments of Nana and we headed to California Pizza Kitchen for their Macaroni at Maddy's request.
After lunch we settled down in the suburban for the two hour drive down to Hollywood. We only encountered a little bit of traffic along the way and arrived with 20 minutes to spare! We parked in the Kodak Theater parking lot and walked up to Hollywood Blvd, which was a zoo thanks to some Movie Awards Pre-Show event on the street! So we weaved through masses of people, camera's, even Elmo, Minnie Mouse and Sponge Bob.
Finally we made our way across the street. So much for the spare 20 minutes prior to show time! Whew, we made it to our seats literally as the lights were dimming.... The movie was good, it flipped around between animated and reality, which was kinda strange. About 45 minutes into it, Kenna whispered she needed to potty. So I took her and while doing her thing she says, "Ok, movies over, I wanna see Sponge Bob now." My reply, "No it's not over, there's more you have to wait!", her reply, "No, I'm done." (a little bribery works) I gave her a piece of gum and we went back to our seats happy campers!
After the show we went next door to an Enchanted extravaganza..... Every princess possible was there. The building was seperated into sections. A art section, dancing section, makeup section, dress boutique, jumpers and princess meet and greets.... Here is some shots of the proceeding 2 hours.
My favorite part of the day was when Makenna had her Princess dress on, she stood shooshing it back and forth, she must have felt so pretty! Thanks mom for a incrediable day with my girls!
This is week three of our Saturday Kidism posts. This week was a toss up between Christian and Madyson, but in the end we chose Maddy. We're saving the biggest kid for last, he has more to talk about! So here goes...
* I call Miss Madyson "Minnie Me", she looks like me, talks like and and acts like me. We go head to head on a daily basis, scary part is, she's just as stubborn as me! I had no idea that was even possible!!!
* She loves to say "whatever", but she says it with her hands. She makes a "W" and a "E" with her fingers then rolls her eyes and smiles.
* She loves to be the Princess. She says "in our house Daddy is the King, Mommy is the queen, Christian is the Joker, Ethan is the price and Kenna is the maid!
* Madsyon is all about fashion. On the first day of Kindergarden she spotted her teachers shoes and marched right up to her, told her how ugly she thought they were and then proceeded to say that she wasn't even sure why someone would even make them. Yep thats Maddy.
* She has to have sunglasses, a purse and a baby with her if we're leaving the house.
* When we're home Maddy is usually outside looking for lizards, caterpillars, praymantas, etc. If it's living then she's scavangering for it. Once found she typically carries it inside and rumages in my tupperware cabnit looking for a house. She feel in love with a HUGE lizard and insisted she let it live with her. Finally we convinced her it was pregnant and the only way it could have it's babies was if she let it free in my rose bushes.
* She loves to dance. She's our willowy graceful girl, who dances or skips instead of standing or walking.
* If Ryan's outside then Maddy perchs herself on the fenderwheel of his truck and helps hand him tools. She's the perfect mixture of a girly girl and a tomboy.
* Maddy loves to tell jokes. Bad part is, she makes them up and there never funny....she tends to repeat them over and over again and we all have to fake laughing. Poor thing.
* She says when she grows up she's going to be a "vegatarian and work on all animals" (she means veternarian, but can never remember it)
* Madyson is not a man's girl. She thinks her Uncle Eric is purely disgusting. If he even glances at her, she turns her head. She loves to tease him and tell him he's gross. A few weeks ago she told him, "Fine I'll love you in November". So needless to say st 7:30 on November 1st, he came over and reminded her of that statement and her reply was, "No, I said sometime in November I will and today is ONLY the first".
