This THING is my Brother's new toy. Actually he got it to fix it up to give to my Niece, Vanessa, as her first car. Ain't it cute? Roxanne said they should get plates that say "Tang" on them.
So DAD if your reading this I'm wondering why my first car wasn't a cute little beachy car that looks like a starburst?
]]>Last Saturday was so pretty. The high was around 95, so we decided to take advantage of the cooler weather and took the kids to the park.
Even got to cuddle on a blanket with my hubby.
A few weeks ago, I posted a "Missing" ad on behalf of Ethan. His beloved tattered "Baxter", had up and disappeared. We have had many discussions about Baxter and I even had to tell a little white lie to make Ethan feel better. I explained that Baxter was sick and had to go to the doctor, but that Baxter said for Ethan to sleep with his friend, Turtle. This pleased Ethan and he has slept with the Turtle ever since.
Anytime I suggest to the kids to go on a "Baxter Hunt", Ethan quickly replies that "Baxter Doctor".
Well the ad has been fulfilled and Baxter is home safe and sound. Well maybe not safe, since he's been dragged around by the ear since Friday, but Ethan sure is happy.
He fed Baxter dinner at the dinner table, took him to the store with us and loves him non-stop.

I saw it in the theater with Roxanne a few months ago. We both loved it. She promptly went out and purchased the book. After she read it, I read it and my girlfriend Laurie read it. It's truly a PaGe TuRnEr....
Now the movie is out on DVD, so I got it and Ryan and I "went to the movies" (in our living room) last night and he loved it too!
]]>Not sure if I mentioned last month that I joined a Bunco group. It's 12 girls, we rotate houses and play one Friday night a month. Last night was at Michelle's house. No not this Michelle or this Michelle or Michelle in Sacramento whom I miss! This Michelle is a new friend, a mommy of two adorable twin three year old's. Strange situation how we met and turns out I grew up with her husband, which is this Michelle's husbands brother, whom I also grew up with. To further the tangled little web of familiarity this Michelle lives less then 5 houses aways from me which we never knew until about 6 months ago. Whew. What a small world we live in.
So there's that. The point is, I love "girls" night and am thankful to have such wonderful people in my life. One can never have too many friends named Michelle!
]]>My babies are so sweet. Ethan loves his "Nenna" and Makenna loves her "Bug Bug".
Last night Makenna announced that "Daddy is not her friend, nope, he's not." I asked who she liked and she said, "Mommy, Bug Bug, Bubba and Sissy only". So what brought on this conversation? Her Daddy told her the N.O. word and it just plain pissed her off.
]]>Tonight as I walked through the door I saw Maddy, Kenna and Ethan playing in the backyard in their bathing suits. It was so sweet. They had taken the hose and filled the little sinks in the two playhouses and we're playing "house".
I commented to Makenna how cute she looked since she's wearing one of Maddy' old swimsuits, she smiled from ear to ear and told me it was because she was "all growed up". Then Maddy said, "Yeah! Makenna is getting so big, lets have another baby girl Mommy!?!"
Um, not.
]]>A three day weekend just wasn't enough! We had three whole days to enjoy with family and friends, so that's exactly what we did. Actually, our entire week was about hangin' out with the people we love! Here's a recap:
Monday night we had Bible study.
Tuesday night we went to dinner with Gillian, Charles and Christine.
Wednesday we went up to a bbq at Holly and Charlie's house.
Thursday Maddy left for the weekend, so Ryan and I watched a movie with Christian and hung out.
Friday we went to our friends Josh and Aurora's house for swimming and fireworks.
Saturday morning we went to Panera Bread with Eric and Roxanne for breakfast.
Saturday afternoon/evening Holly and Charlie came over and we played games and ate way to much mexican food.
Sunday Clint and Christina came over for a bbq and Makenna, Ethan and baby Dean played like crazy.
WHEW....
This week our schedule isn't quite as scattered.
Monday we have Bible Study, Tuesday nothing, Wednesday nothing, Thursday I have a work dinner, Friday night is girls Bunco night.
]]>My girlfriend Michelle, who lives too far away love to torment Ryan with her Wednesday Recipe Posts. So I thought I would take today to share the yummiest salad recipe that I got from another girlfriend named Michelle, who lives right around the corner. (There's sooo many Michelle's in my life and yet their all so wonderfully unique and different from each other)
Mango Avocado Shrimp Salad
(serves 6)
3 tbsp fresh lime juice
2 tbsp vegetable oil
1 tbsp sugar
2 lg firm ripe mangos
2 lg firm ripe avocados
2/3 cups sliced green onion and chopped cilantro
1 tbsp minced fresh green chile
1 lb (70 to 110) peeled cooked shrimp
Wisk lime juice, oil and sugar until sugar dissolves.
Dice mangos and avocados into 3/4 inch cubes.
Mix all ingredients gently.
Serve immediately or chill up to one hour.
This is so good! It's all the right luscious flavors combined together.
