It's so hard being the youngest of four siblings.
Ethan is normally one of two things, either super quiet observing things or super loud being the center of attention.
His moods depend of three things. Christian, Madyson and Makenna.
Ethan is usually Makenna's shadow, so I should have questioned WHY Madyson had him in her room "playing" for over an hour.
Why? Hum, well apparently he is the perfect life size human doll.
Its Saturday morning, we just finished eating our cinnamon and sugar toast and coffee. This mornings meal was no different then any other in our Household, it contained a lot of talking and even more laughing. Ryan and I agree that mealtime is a favorite. It gives all of us a chance to hear about each-others days, tell stories, jokes, giggle, etc...
So, I snagged Ryan and now we're both sitting in front of the computer to start a weekly tradition. From now on once a week we'll sit down and share some of our favorite stories with our friends and family. This week we're starting with Miss Makenna Jean... She' the most sassy in the family and everything that comes out of her mouth is amusing so its only appropriate that we start with her! Here are some of our favorite things Makenna Jean says or does right now at age 2....
* Her name for Uncle Eric is "butthead", came up with it all on her own...only Makenna could get away with it
* Her favorite word is "ghetto" (don't ask)
* Everything is "whittle", like she's coming in a whittle while
* When and if she doesn't like something its "pouchy", yep poop in Spanish
* If she wants our attention, she calls us by first name, instead of Mommy or Daddy
* If shes serious about something she says, "wook at my eyebrows" and then wiggles them (shes got some serious Caterpillars going on)
* Every night at dinner we pray, Kenna always interrupts the person praying and says really loudly, "and thank-you for the broccoli, AMEN" (there is A LOT of blessed broccoli in the world)
* She loves to have her finger and toe nails painted, she calls the polish "farkles", she'll says, "wook at my farkles"
* If Ryan is irritating her, she stomps upstairs and goes to her room, yikes what will it be like when she's 16?
* She wakes up her baby brother on a daily basis, but chucking toys into his crib and saying "bug bug waaaake uuup!!)
* Anytime anyone in the goes goes to the bathroom, when they exit the bathroom she asked "did you get your potty cany?" (she thinks the potty candy is good at any age)
* When asked to spell her name she says, "M-A-KEY-E-N-N-A", I'll say no its "K", she'll say there's no "Key" in my name? which is always followed by the never-ending question.......WHY?
****Was just reminded of Makenna's bad habit of Chip dipping.....The kids loves her chips and special sauce...****
My parents have been gone for 17 days now, I know this because the kids are counting. Everyday my parents email clues and trivia questions about where they are that day and the kids have to research and google to figure it out. So last night Maddy cried at bedtime, saying "she really misses them"... We prayed and said good night and that was that. Well this morning they still must have been on her mind, because while I was making her lunch the following conversation transpired between Maddy and I.
Maddy: "Mommy, who did Nana come from?''
Me: "What do you mean Maddy?"
Maddy: "Like you came from Nana's belly, who's did Nana come from?"
Me: "From my Grandma."
Christian "You know Maddy, the grandma in heaven."
Maddy "Oh, the one with the white hair?"
Me "Yes, Maddy that one."
(after taking a few bits of Rice Crispies and thinking..)
Maddy "Oh, she did a really good job."
So on came the tears!!! Wow, what a profound thought from a 6 year old! I must say, yes she did do a good job. I'd like to think Nana too did a good job and now I'm trying to do a good job. I have great role-models.
